Serious Linden Crash Caused By DWI Driver: Police

Two people were injured, including a drunk driver, in a car crash in Linden at I-278 W and Morses Mill Road on Tuesday, April 25.

A 2020 Nissan Altima was traveling west on I-278 when it struck a 1999 Buick Lesabre that was crossing the intersection from the left turn lane exiting I-278 at Morses Mill Road at 7 p.m., police said.

Both drivers were transported to Newark University Hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Wesley Davis, a 45-year-old Avenel resident and the driver of the Nissan, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, police said The traffic signal at the intersection was also damaged, police said.
